Basement Waterproofing Questions - Your FAQs Answered

Basement Waterproofing

Basement Waterproofing Questions were answered by Anthony Reick, a Minneapolis landscape contractor who has been solving wet basement problems for over 30 years.

Hello. I'm Tony Reick from AAA Reick's Waterproofing. I've lived in Minnesota and worked in the Metro area for 30+ years.

Q: Why do I find water on my basement floor after a rain?

A: Well, it's due to the grading around your home's foundation. You should take a look at the outside of your home to find out what the problem is.

Q: My home's older; does that have anything to do with it?

A: Yeah. Quite often, older homes are the ones that leak the most, but even homes that were built as early as 2000 can leak.

Q: How does your company waterproof my basement?

A: We work from the outside of the home versus the inside. We work with the grade around the home's foundation to ensure that water rolls properly away from the home versus back into the basement.

Q: What about those Indoor Pump Systems?

A: The indoor pump systems are like putting just a quick fix band-aid on it because they allow water to get down into the basement and then pump it out.

Q: Why is your service better than others?

A: What we do by working outside the home is fix the root of the problem, find out, pinpoint where the problem is coming from and then work on the outside of the house. There is no need to tear up the concrete, move the stairs, disconnect the utilities downstairs, and break up all that concrete.

It's not necessary when the problem is on the outside of the house.

Call AAA Reick's Waterproofing today, and we will come up personally and take a walk around the exterior of your home. We will show you where your problem comes in and will come up with a solution to fix it.
